Curvature

How stem, mass, and coherent vision warp the reachable region of configuration space: what looks near, far, inevitable, or impossible.

Scroll to deepen the well. Shape of distortion, not yet the pull of others.

Definition

The reachable region has a geometry, and it shapes tension.

Curvature is the warping of what seems possible: near or far, inevitable or unthinkable. It comes from stem, mass, and a coherent vision. It changes the effective geometry of the reachable region of configuration space, before anyone else is pulled in.

A weak, diffuse identity leaves a nearly flat field. Every path looks equally available and equally empty. A high-mass, directed stem bends the field so some trajectories feel natural and others take enormous force to enter.

Conceptual formalization

Curvature can be read as the local directional distortion around the stem:κ(local) = how strongly options bend around a vision-weighted trajectory. Not a metric-tensor claim, but a practical geometry for action quality inside the reachable region of configuration space.

Curvature and Tension

Curvature directly modulates the tension an identity experiences:

  • Tension amplification: Strong curvature makes certain paths feel almost inevitable and others almost impossible. This intensifies the experienced tension between what is desired and what feels accessible.
  • Tension reduction / channeling: Well-aligned curvature can reduce destructive tension by making productive paths feel natural and low-resistance.
  • Feedback loop: Mass and Rotation change curvature. Changed curvature then alters the tension field acting back on the identity. This is one of the primary ways an identity can consciously influence its own tension field.
Distinction

Curvature ≠ Gravitation

Curvature

Shape of the distortion: the geometry of the reachable region for this identity. It directly shapes the tension the identity itself experiences.

Gravitation

What that bend does to others: attraction between identities and the tension this interaction creates.

Engineering

Engineering work: Make the well intentional. If our curvature is accidental (unexamined fear, borrowed goals, reactive denseness), we systematically misread near and far, and waste force climbing the wrong slopes.

Practical prompts
  • Which options currently feel "naturally near," and is that proximity created by my vision or by inherited pressure?
  • What deliberate curvature would reduce destructive tension and increase access to productive tension in the next 6–12 months?
  • Where am I currently fighting against curvature I myself have created through past Mass and Rotation?
Foundations anchor

The geometric language of curvature as warping of the manifold itself (rather than a force acting in flat space) is taken from Einstein’s general relativity. See Einstein: Relativity, Spacetime Geometry and the Equivalence Principle.
