Relativity

Identity exists only in relation to another observing identity. This is the bridge from single to interactive.

Scroll: measurement state. Continuity is observed through change.

Interactive layer

Identity is not absolute. And tension is not absolute either.

Relativity states that identity exists only in relation to another observing identity. This is the bridge from single-identity geometry to the interactive field.

The same holds for Spannung: tension does not exist in isolation. It arises in relation: between past and future, between internal drives and external demands, between one identity and another. Since identity only becomes real through observation and relation, tension is not an optional add-on. It is constitutive of identity.

Implications
  • Observer-dependence: how our stem is read depends on the other’s frame (their mass, curvature, vision). The tension we experience is always co-shaped by how we are observed and how we observe others.
  • Mutual definition: relationships co-produce both identity geometry and the tension fields between stems. Isolation is an idealization, not the default ontology.
  • No tension-free identity: Because identity requires relation to be recognized and maintained, and because tension arises in relation, there is no such thing as a tension-free identity. The question is never whether tension exists, but what quality, intensity, and direction it has.
  • AI-era stress test: when copies are cheap, the question “same as whom, for whom, under what observation?” becomes central, and with it the question of which tensions are being preserved or erased in the act of observation.

Engineering work: Design for legible differentials under observation. Make the State Differential transparent enough that another identity (human or artificial) can track sameness-as-trajectory without freezing us into a copyable snapshot. At the same time, become aware that every act of observation and relation co-creates the tension field in which identity is maintained.

Practical probes
  • Which observer groups matter most for my continuity claims, and what tension does their observation create?
  • What evidence do they need to track real continuity without flattening the tension that makes my trajectory meaningful?
  • Where am I still over-relying on static, copyable signals that hide the relational and tensional nature of my identity?
OS · Self-Probe · Mature

Under Relativity every act is Interaction. A Self-Probe is Interaction with observer = self.Mature is the directed Self-Probe in IE OS: causal integration of the own Trajectory into a Geometry Receipt (relative State Differential and Vision Gradient notes; optional ownership_move record).

It does not replace relational probes (Interact across the membrane). It is the phase that keeps Stem tension measurable and Vision-aligned under Ownership when no foreign observer is in the loop. See Time · Identity Stem andOS.

Foundations anchor

The physical root of frame-dependent observation and the Worldline priority is Einstein’s special and general relativity. See Einstein: Relativity, Spacetime Geometry and the Equivalence Principle.

Identity-Native Messaging Layer (communication and information exchange between Identities)

Signals exist in the Interactive biology lens as elementary exchange events. However, the full information exchange — messaging, broadcasting, task delegation, and multi-scope coordination between Identities (including hybrid human+agent and collective scopes) — remains undefined. Existing agent protocols (A2A / Agent Cards, MCP, OpenClaw-style multi-agent, Hermes, etc.) solve agent-to-agent and agent-to-tool communication. They do not provide an Identity-to-Identity layer under IE geometry (Mass, Curvature, Gravitation, Frequency, Ownership, Causal Entropic Forces / future freedom). Scopes (personal / project / team / department / org) are themselves Identities or Identity-configurations in the framework, yet there is no native way for them to exchange content while respecting Recognition, Coupling, Metabolism, and Ownership. This gap sits at the transition from Interactive → Living (operationalizing Metabolism and Multicellularity) and is required for the OS to turn geometry into a usable multi-identity system.
